A day in the life: Minion Leader Style

I get asked many questions in a day, week, month, year, etc...

There are a few that stand out the most.

#1: What are your best selling products? Answer in order: Our Famous Lip Balm, No-Poo/Peek A Poo Shampoo Alternative & then our Whipped Body Mousse

#2: What's the hardest part about running your own manufacturing & retail business? Answer: That I have yet to figure out how to clone myself to get more done. As a matter of fact, I'm writing this at 1:08 in the morning.

AND (drum roll please.... the absolute most asked question...)

#3: What do you do/use? Answer(s): Everything but not everyday. Lets just take a walk through an EXAMPLE of my daily routine shall we?

Somewhere around 7:30AM I drag (yes, drag. I am not a morning person no matter how hard I try) myself out of bed.

I take some time to wake up (about 30 minutes) and try to become nicer. Cranky sleeping in the shower is frowned upon around here. Once my relaxing/quiet time is over its time to move on to getting ready to face our fabulous customers for the day.

I wash my face with just cool water in the mornings (you'll see why when we get to the end of the day).

I select a Face Mask (we make them custom in store) and apply it according to the directions (although the relax part rarely gets to happen). While I'm waiting on the mask to dry, I brush my teeth (good dental care is important) and select my clothes for the day. By then the mask should be dry & ready to wash off (again, read the d-i-r-e-c-t-i-o-n-s)

Now I gather all the fun things I'll need after my shower: Crystal Deodorant, Balance: Chakra Spray, Affirmation: Face & Eye Toner/Tightener and either my Vega's Choice Hair Dressing, Beeutiful Serum or Smooth Move Serum. Then my makeup of course.

So now it's time to shower. I only wash my hair every 4th day. If it's a hair washing day then I use our Aura Formula: Neem Oil No Poo Shampoo Alternative for Color Treated & Greying Hair. (seriously, I have blue/purple hair, what else would I use?). I don't have a specific soap I use since I am not sensitive to fragrances and of course I have test bars in the shower continuously (I have 8 at the moment). I DO however try to keep my feet soft so I always make sure I have my Cherry Bomb Pumice Scrub ready and waiting for a good foot buffing.

I only towel dry my hair carefully with one of our peshtemals by blotting then letting it air dry. I do enough damage to my hair between straightening it & coloring it, why add blow dry to the mix?

After that I toss on a light bit of makeup (powder, eyeliner, mascara & lip balm) & out the door I go. This all takes about 45 minutes.

I now spend the next 9 to 10 hours meeting wonderful clients, vendors, new friends, answering questions and generally annoying the minions here at the shop. After that, it's off home for dinner, a few hours of relaxation with my favorite spouse, then bed so we can do it all again the next business day.

Now, onto my evening/bedtime routine: I always start with washing my face to remove any makeup and oils (again water only) with hot/warm water. I choose water only because washing with soaps, cleansers, detergents etc… can strip your skin of all of its natural oils, therefore encouraging your skin to over react and create excess oils (sebum). So, if you have excessively oily skin and need or want to wash with soap(s), we recommend that you do it in the evening with a mild soap like our castile formula in case you’re one whose skin over reacts, and then water only washing in the day/morning.

After washing, I hydrate. I use our Novus Face & Eye Serum for my entire face (a little goes a long way). Then I turn my attention to keeping my feet soft again). I like to use our Whipped Body Mousse, applied liberally before bed and covered with a pair of clean socks to keep my tootsies sandal and snuggle ready at all times of the year (It’s also fabulous for dry, cracked over washed and winter skin). Our Body Mousse is my go to winter moisturizer for my face too. It provides a fabulous protective layer from windburn, chaffing and chapping.

After all that, I’m ready for bed and starting all again tomorrow. The question is... are you ready? :)
